Qianmen Shanxi Noodles - May 2005

We discovered a Shanxi noodle hole-in-the-wall on No 2. Long Alley (Chang Hang Er Tiao), right off of Xian Yu Kou Jie, the commercial alley that cuts east off of Qianmen Dajie just south of Qianjude duck restaurant. I mention this because this unpromising looking little dive served up one of the best bowls of hand-shaved Shanxi noodles I've had in a long time for 3 yuan. Tall, cold Yanjings were 2 yuan a bottle. And Ms. Wang, the proprietress, took great care of us. Try it out.
