Manado and Lembeh
I've been to
the Manado area three times, including a trip to nearby Gangga,
and I've enjoyed it every time. Consistently good and varied diving despite
the large number of operators, and constently good photo opportunities.
Photos below are from Bunaken and Lembeh. If you are planning a trip,
I highly recommend Eco Divers,
who can arrange the Bunaken Marine Park, the Lembeh Straits and other
interesting sites around Manado. The pyramid of batfish on the bottom
row of thumbnails, taken at Bunaken's Lekuan wall in 1998, is my favorite
of the underwater photos I have taken. The two topside shots are of the
islands of in the Bunaken Marine park.
