This is diving in Singapore's backyard, and proof that good dives and good photos can be had in the relatively unglamorous spots of Tioman, Anambas and Pulau Aur. The leaping dolphin was taken in Anambas. The other topside photos are from Pulau Aur. The underwater photos are from a mix of these three locations.
These days, most
of my diving in this area is from Singapore-based liveaboard MV
White Manta, which I am happy to recommend. It takes a lot of divers
(20), but it is spacious, well equipped, has a large emergency oxygen
supply, a powered dinghy, two engines, and a professional and helpful
crew. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't divemaster on it from time to time.
